CAN BRAIN-MACHINE INTERFACE BE DEVELOPED?

Can someday we would be able to listen to the thoughts of the people who cannot speak ?
Earlier looking at the electrical activity of the brain on the map the scientists were able to say to which words a person was hearing but the present gist of the scientists is toward being able to "hear" the thoughts of people who can’t speak.Scientists have been trying to understand the mechanism of our brain by which it manages to processes the audible sounds and extracts the abstract meanings of the words and sentences conveyed to it.

Tumors imaged through biocompatible Quantum dots

Quantum dots ate the small semiconductor nanoparticles that become brightly fluuorescent with sharply defined colours, giving tremendous promise as biomedical imaging agents but inclusive of one problem-most of them are made from cadmium and selenium which are potentially hazardous materials. However a collaborative effort between reasearchers of Stanford University and Xiamen University in China has been able to produce a stable ,biocompatibel quantum that appears to have the desired set of properties needed for bio-medical imaging.

Microsoft developing electronic contact lens to monitor blood sugar

Having succeeded in making computers faster, smaller, and cheaper, technologists are now focused on making computing more accessible—more effortlessly integrated into the user’s life—enabling more people to do more interesting things. Over the last few years, Microsoft has been working on creating natural user interfaces (NUIs) that make interacting with computers seamless, so that people can focus on completing their everyday tasks, building better relationships, and living better lives, even—or especially—when they’re on the go.

Dreams measured for the first time!

Dreaming is one of the most fascinating aspects we have in our system. But there still remains many un-answered questions like-why do we dream? Does it collide with something real we have seen? Or dreams are always imaginary? How are we able to see the images and feel the emotions in it even when asleep? That’s a mystery. Up to now it has not been possible to measure dream content. New approach to detect pre-cancerous colon cells!

the detection of colon cells by using light technology

What is this new approach to detect pre-cancerous colon cells? What is the new technology which inspires the scientists to develop such technological devices? and What is the use of it and whats its mechanism? Lets find the answers to these questions!
